Rob Alexander has been in the driving seat on major projects across Australia. He is a specialist in project recovery when a business hits the wall or when a fast solution is required to help an organisation reach an urgent goal.

His chequered flag highlights include:

ANZ Group Innovation Business Unit - Head of Innovation Business Program Management

Responsible for overseeing conceptual design, business case development and delivery to customers of an International award winning (FIIA, Trailblazer, Canstar) mobile banking service known as ANZ goMoney. This included senior stakeholder management with ANZ business groups, marketing, legal, risk and technology

Melbourne Recital Centre - IT Director

The Melbourne Recital Centre was a new purpose built world class recital hall commissioned by the Victorian State Government to provide music presentation services to key arts organisations. Robert was appointed IT Director during the establishment phase of the organisation through to the first sale of concert tickets to the public. He was responsible for reviewing and implementing the IT strategy. This included managing the tender process and recommending the purchase of all key business applications. 

 

Wheeler Centre - Consultant

The Victorian State Government successfully bid for Melbourne to be recognised by UNESCO as a City of Literature and as its centrepiece, established the Wheeler Centre at the State Library of Victoria. Robert provided a high level assessment of the IT systems employed by the five participating Arts organisations and the options to be considered when moving to the new centre.

RURAL Ambulance VICTORIA (RAV) - Program Manager

Responsibility for the delivery of RAV’s major program of works identified in the State Governments ‘Statement of Priorities’ known as RAVComm. The program of works included the negotiation and replacement of a state wide mobile emergency communication system and Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD)

Telstra - Senior Business Manager

Member of the ‘Emerging Applications’ team established specifically to develop Telstra’s strategic direction for mobile commerce. 

VicRoads Consultant - Supporting stakeholder management in relation to regulatory change for licensing and vehicle registration.

Telstra Consultant Retail Risk & Compliance business unit - Updating 2017 strategic plan for 2017 and identifying a number of improvements resulting in a new Operating Model for the Business, 

ANZ Global Wealth & Private Bank - Senior Program Manager- in 2015 ANZ acquired Shout for Good, a company that developed a digital fundraising platform enabling people to donate money to over 150 charities. Working with Shout’s founder, Rob managed the transition and compliance of the Shout services into ANZ as a new business unit.

ANZ Trustees Limted - worked with management to oversee transition of business to Equity Trustees.

Managed a trial with a large Australian company to trial “Watson” that provides cognitive computing cloud capability.  Watson interacts in natural language, processes big data to uncover new patterns and insights, and learns from each interaction. 

Medibank Workplace Health - Program Manager

Major business transformation program comprising 60 projects for Medibank Workplace Health for a number of medical services including Pre-Employment health checks, Visa health checks, Injury management services and Travel Doctor services through medical clinics nationally. 

National E-Health Transition Authority (NEHTA) - Consultant

NEHTA transitioned from a largely research and development focused organisation to one with formal delivery responsibilities to commercial medical services.  

Fire Services Commissioner Victoria - Consultant

Following the Royal Commission into the Victorian Bushfires the State Government appointed a Fire Services Commissioner (FSC) to oversee the operations of the firefighting agencies. The FSC appointed Rob and a senior representative from each agency to study the benefits of building a Common Operating Picture. Rob was responsible for conducting a wide range of interviews and documenting information and data from each agency (MFB, CFA, DSE and SES) and other organisations such as the BOM, VicRoads and DHS.  

NAB - Consultant

Replacing infrastructure for the bank's platform known as NAB Connect.
